Can you recognize the parts of sectional garage door?
Garage doors are
available in various types which are one piece door, the roller door and the
sectional garage door. A sectional
garage door is made of numerous parts and each part of the door has its
importance and own function. The sectional garage is made out of several
sections. A perfect balance of all these sections helps counterbalancing the
weight of the door and operates smoothly. Each section of the door is connected
with hinges that allows the section to spin around. Added to this, the end
hinges is also responsible to maintain the door balance during vertical and
horizontal movements. Normally, the
large doors are added with struts to prevent buckling of the garage door.
The top and
bottom of the garage
door parts are outfitted with fixtures that are in turn connected with the
fasteners. The fixtures installed at the bottom of the sectional garage door
are referred as bottom fixture while the fixtures installed on the top is
referred as top fixtures.
The
counterbalance mechanism that enables the door to move upward direction is
installed with the cables attached to the bottom fixtures. Besides, the
counterbalance mechanism is also connected to the cable drums at both ends of
the shaft installed above the sectional garage door.
Added to this,
the cable, cable drums, the shaft and the counterbalance mechanism of the door
is supported by torsion springs, couples, centre supported brackets, cones and
end bearing plates. One end of the torsion spring is fixed firmly to the
bracket while the other is fixed to the shaft.
