A guide to recognize garage door sectional parts

Whenever you wish to purchase a garage door, it is good to get some details about it. This helps you in taking suitable decision that best suits for your residence exterior and architectural style. There are three types of garage doors; one piece door, roller door and sectional door. Let’s have a look on sectional garage doors which is very popular among the residence owners. A sectional garage door consists of numerous parts and each part has own function and importance. The name “Sectional” is derived from its design. As the name suggests, the sectional door is made of numerous sections. Numerous garage door parts are responsible to connect all the sections together in order to provide counterbalance and proper travel mechanism so that the sections can lift and release the door.

Every single section is connected with hinges that allows these segments to pivot. Added to this, while joining the segments, the end hinges also work as a carrier of the door during vertical and horizontal movements. Normally, the large size doors come up with added struts in order to avoid buckling or sagging of segments. The upper-end and lower-end of the door are completely equipped with fixtures and are connected with fasteners. The fixtures connected at the lower-end and upper-end of the door is referred as bottom fixtures and top fixtures, as well. Each and every part of the door should be maintained properly. However, a residence owner need not take any special training to maintain their garage door. You need to clean the door as and when needed and once in a three months clean it with mild detergent and soft brush.
