Your guide to measure garage door size

As the car size are increasing steadily, the size of garage door also needs to be increased to accommodate the vehicles. Bigger garage demands bigger doors and vice versa. Some reputed manufactures design the garage door, according to their customer preference, but some build a garage door in a standard size. A standard garage door size is also referred as a golf cart door. The standard garage doors are available in three different sizes, i.e. 5X7 feet, 6X7 feet and 8X7 feet. If you own a single car, you can choose a door of 8X7 feet, 9X7 feet and 10X7 feet. If you’re planning to build double garage doors to accommodate two cars, you need to choose 12X7 feet, 14X7 feet, 18X7 feet, 16X8 feet and 18X8 feet garage doors.

A common question that hit your mind while constructing a garage, which size of door should I choose to accommodate my vehicles? If you wish to have a spacious door, then choose big door, while it is recommended to choose compact and small size door if you have less coverage area. Another important factors need to consider while choosing the door is to decide the number of cars, which has to be accommodated. You should consider the present and future requirements of clearance area before purchasing a door, if you fail to decide all these factors, you may end up investing your money every time when you purchase a new car or wish to buy two to three cars.
